He was in the left lane on the highway going to work and a semi in the middle of the highway was starting to drift into his lane so he started to move. Riding the shoulder, some debris made his tire blow so he went spinning in front of the semi... his front slammed into the guardrail on the right side of the highway, and then he bounced back into the semi trailer... scary... I'm glad that he's okay. Its really a miracle.

p.s.s. I love how the thread title and one of the tags is "carnage"...lol...made me laugh.

my apologies to anyone who might think I'm being insensitive...I'm not. I can only joke about it because everyone's ok. If someone lost an arm, it wouldn't be funny....

...well, AS funny. :P j/k

He mentioned that he wanted to get another Fit, but I dunno what he's ultimately going to do... I guess he's just waiting on insurance to see what's going to happen.

The girl in the background on the third picture is his girlfriend... she didn't know how bad his car was yesterday until we saw it today.

So much for that myth about micro-compacts being unsafe, huh? If you can tangle with a semi like that and walk away from it, then the car did its job perfectly. I'm sure there are a lot of bigger cars that wouldn't hold up nearly that well in the same situation. Honda should put that in a commercial!

good lord, that's just scary. it makes me happy to know that the fit is so safe, but i hope i'm never put in a situation like that where it needs to be tested. but holy crap, i can't believe how 100% totaled that fit is there...

WHAT'S WITH ALL THESE WRECKED FITS LATELY?!?! great people, terrible drivers?

Glad to hear everyone is OK.

Glad he's o.k. Glad to see his Fit did it's job, and did it well. If he wants another VBP, get on the list now. It won't be on the 2009's.

That's the wrong way to make your fit lower in the front. Glad to see his fit kept him pretty safe.

Well the intake manifold cover looks to be ok. Does he want to sell it? I painted mine and now I just want to start over.
