fittogo,
My dad bought the cortina new while stationed in England in 1971. He orderd it to canadian specs so it is left hand drive. Sadly he passed away in Jan. and the car was left to me. I have many fond memories of going to Silverstone in the cortina with my dad to watch car racing.

It is the 2.0 engine. I appreciate the offer but Im sure I will pass the car on to one of my sons some day. Try enfostuff.com and check the classified, someone has a mk3 for sale for 600 dollars.

Spule,
I think I probably have the same tape. I spent many weekends at Silverstone watching minis, cortinas, anglias etc going at it. I actually owned a 1966 mk1 lotus cortina but sold it two years ago.
If you go to lotus-cortina.com there are lots of good photos including a couple of my lotus!! It is the one that says now in kansas in the picture section.

Got another tape of the infamous 1996 Monte with the Citroen-Mini fiasco. BMC sponsored Minis were booted for a lighting violation and the French officials claimed that the factory sponsored (new model for 1966) Citroen DS21s took wins. Having owned and repaired a few DS21s in my life, those cars sounded very un-stock!
