Nice Fit, i love that color it looks great!

Are you doing your pics off Image shack? If so and you want the pics bigger click classic view and they will be much bigger. Also you dont have to post IMG tags if you copy and paste the link!

fittogo,
My dad bought the cortina new while stationed in England in 1971. He orderd it to canadian specs so it is left hand drive. Sadly he passed away in Jan. and the car was left to me. I have many fond memories of going to Silverstone in the cortina with my dad to watch car racing.

Cool. Should you decide to sell the Cortina, give me a holler. Does it have a 2.0L engine?

It is the 2.0 engine. I appreciate the offer but Im sure I will pass the car on to one of my sons some day. Try enfostuff.com and check the classified, someone has a mk3 for sale for 600 dollars.

Thanks for the compliments. I really like the color too. The dealer had just about every color to choose from and I liked the tidewater the best!

Neat Cortina, have not seen one Stateside in years! I always liked the Mk1s, have some old rally films of them and the Minis duking it out in the 1960s here at the house.

Spule,
I think I probably have the same tape. I spent many weekends at Silverstone watching minis, cortinas, anglias etc going at it. I actually owned a 1966 mk1 lotus cortina but sold it two years ago.
If you go to lotus-cortina.com there are lots of good photos including a couple of my lotus!! It is the one that says now in kansas in the picture section.

The best of mine is in Greece, 1965 Acropolis. Saab was in battle too, Volvo withdrew due to a fatality in a 122....and from factory racing .

Got another tape of the infamous 1996 Monte with the Citroen-Mini fiasco. BMC sponsored Minis were booted for a lighting violation and the French officials claimed that the factory sponsored (new model for 1966) Citroen DS21s took wins. Having owned and repaired a few DS21s in my life, those cars sounded very un-stock!
