Middle East Jazz

Yeah, kind of. People are really nice when there's no disagreement; in the UAE most locals live the easy life so not much to be upset about. Lots of expat workers from many countries, some have it better than others. It's the type of place you keep your head down and send your money home. Good friends and a tight-knit western expat community make a big difference in your quality of life. People love their cars and drive like crazy!

Yes, they do! Maybe it's to help cool the engine bay down after overheating...
It must be we get EU specs?
BTW, I lived in Thailand for 6 years in the mid 80s - awesome place! Bet you get good Jazz mods there!

Tehehehe >.< When I went Thailand Bangkok this summer that place was INFESTED with Honda Fits/Jazz.
So was Macau in China. So was Hong Kong.
The UK's not going to get the 1.5vtec till hell freezes over. ~_~ There's some chap on this forum that's imported a 1.5 engine though - however, i think that was to the US =S
So have yougot any mods planned?

The plan is to keep the exterior fully stock (maybe minor tell-tale sticker, I'm even trying to find good tyres to fit the stock 14" rims) and also the interior is already fine for me (maybe accent lighting in the footweels) but what I want to concentrate on is acceleration and handling.
It's a traffic car for me - I want to be fast under 120kph, and I want to zig-zag like an Olympic slalom skiier. That's the goal. Looks and style, high speeds, autocross or track, that's not why I chose a Jazz - and that's just my personal choice. I want to rule the city!
So, first order went out a couple of days ago. I got some quotes from similar online shops, and settled for Weapon-R.
My order is shipping as we write:
Street Header ( $195 ) + freight $55 = $250
Front upper bar ( $88 ) + freight $40 =$128
Rear Cage bar set ( $230 ) + freight $62 = $292 ……………………………… Total $670.

Gentlemen and Ladies, I'm happy to announce the rear cage by Weapons-R (prolly also any other similar brand) absolutely works and works very well.
The difference in handling is clear-cut and obvious. While on fast curves before, the tires would squeal and the whole body would flex and lose track while I could sit comfortably in my seat; now the tires squeal, the car stays on track and the seat does not provide enough support! 8)
Crystal-clear, not only in the head, absolute tightening of the handling - chassis remains flat and you can feel the suspension do its job.
Highly recommended for who wants x-cross type handling on turns.
Some installation notes:
First install upper bar with brackets tight, then lower bar also with brackets tight, and last install the two diagonal bars.
Requires permanent removal of full-size spare tire, and some minor cutting of rear carpet.
Does not interfere with operation of seats.

Headers in! :!:
It took forever... drove me crazy, but it was my own stupidity - eventually found a bracket that I had missed!!!! I have to write a formal letter of apology to the Japanese Prime Minister for all the insults I hurled at his country and people... all my high school swearwords resurfaced - man, I sounded like a drunk sailor.
Actually, everything was straightforward and the Weapon-R install precise - it was my own oversight, I'm not used to working in such tight spaces. My old 83 GMC truck, you'd climb up and into the engine bay, sitting on the inside wheel fender to work!!!
Results? Ahhh, glad you asked...
0-100 kph: before 11.32 seconds, now 10.84
60-120 kph: 12.29 seconds, now 10:26
Full WOT, no A/C, straight line, in sports mode, hand-held stopwatch, single run (ie., not accurate).
Difference in stock and WR header:
Entry - stock: 27mm, header: 37mm
Exit - stock: 37mm, header: 40mm
Stock exhaust muffler I removed and will replace with straight pipe. Jazz has a baffler just behind the cat, so it's not completely a free pipe and it has a nice deep tone without the muffler. Still a bit loud and we'll see if it attracts too much attention.
Installation Notes:
Heat shield cannot be re-used
Do not remove stock gasket, it stays nicely in place - just remove exhaust manifold and slap in new headers.
At the end of the exhaust manifold, where it connects to the cat, there is a gasket. This must be re-used.
Support bracket must be loosened fully and only then it can reach and be used.
Drop cat part of exhaust (removing sensor first so it doesn't hang on wires) to gain more room to slip off exhaust manifold.
Must lift front of car as must reach from underneath as well as from top.
Bolts on manifold gasket: 5 x 12mm
Bolts on exhaust: 2 x 14mm
Bolts on heat shield: 2 x 10mm

From http://www.weapon-r.com
Shipped to UAE via USPS:
Street Header ( $195 ) + freight $55 = $250
Front upper bar ( $88 ) + freight $40 =$128
Rear Cage bar set ( $230 ) + freight $62 = $292 ………………………………
Total $670.
Best result was from rear cage bar set - big immediate improvement in handling over stock.

In the site the header is $300, so how did you get $195, so which freight did you use, and do you pay any customs, tax when you receive products from abroad in UAE.

Thanks guys! I'm loving my little Jazz.. she rules the roundabouts where I live
Kimo, e-mail customerservice@weapon-r.com and ask.
The prices were quoted right here on fitfreak at https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/non-fit-vendor-group-buys-new-product-sales/18468-weapon-r-sw-intake-chassis-bars-super-sale.html.
I'm not sure if it was a group buy special or what, but that's what they quoted me when I asked (I mentioned fitfreak, of course! )
I had also asked for similar parts from another two well-known suppliers, but Weapon-R gave me the best deal by far, mainly because they offered to ship by US Postal Service, not courier only.
Their customer service was 5-stars; packing was good; delivery was around 2 weeks; the 3 parcels arrived to my PO Box at the local post office on different days and Customs didn't even open one, so I paid no import duties.
Can you imagine I received 3 sealed parcels clearly marked from "Weapon Competition Racing, USA" containing something metal, long and heavy, on 3 consecutive days, and not one was opened...
