My Fit was totaled!

Yeah I know it has the s52. I just realized that I said the E46 M3 in my post above, I meant to say the E36 M3. I would rather have the s52 anyway because of reliability issues with the s54. Also, the M coupes with the s52 have a shorter final drive so there isn't as much of an acceleration difference as you might think. They say the s52 is actually faster in a 50-70 run (in 3rd gear).

The M Coupe I got has aftermarket coilovers on it and it has been lowered, so I don't really know about a stock one. Judging from the (very limited) test drive I did however the ride quality is not harsh at all. The car felt VERY good. I think it has to do with the longer wheelbase and the weight of the car.
I am going to pick up the car from the dealership after work today so I will do another post on the new car with pics and driving impressions.

Why don't these morons ever have insurance? It's happened to me and to everyone I know. They drive like idiots and crash into you, and you then find out that they're not insured. They usually get away with it, so why bother?

Another FIT story:

My son works at a Honda dealer. Just the other day he told me a Fit came in and everyone thought it was a total! Hit on the side; some damage to the frame etc. The total was well over $10.5k... The insurance company refused to total the car and it is being fixed as we speak!

I'm sorry to hear that somebody else got in a fairly bad accident, I hope everybody is ok! I'm glad they totaled mine rather than fixing it though. I've seen cars that spent a lot of time on a frame machine and even then the body panels don't quite align any more. Also, even if they get the car cosmetically correct and it drives straight and everything how can you know that it will stand up to another crash in the way it is supposed to?

It hasn't really stopped raining yet since I got it, and I can't quite bring myself to take pictures of it dirty.
Maybe it will be nice this weekend and I can wash it and take some photos.

A lot of Z3s have problems with the rear sub-frame cracking under stress and that is exactly what they do to fix it. Just put double welds and reinforcement plates on everything LOL.
