ONLY 28MPG!!!11one

I only managed to get 28 MPG last weekend! Could be due to the track day...
So I went out and hooned the Fit a little bit and it did surprisingly well. As most of you are probably used to by now, when I showed up at the start of the day, everyone was saying, "oh look a Fit." By the end, it was more like "OH look it's the Fit!" I love the attention this car draws haha.
Event was held at the Autobahn CC in Joliet, IL on the South track, 2.13 miles of technical track enjoyment. Great event held by the Midwestern Council, I highly recommend running with the group if you ever get the chance!
Enjoy the pictures!

Filling up the night before

Hate to be this guy...

Prepping the cars with the trusty Painter's Tape

Exiting the Pits

Let the body roll begin!

My tires were begging for mercy at every corner haha

Nice park job, eh? Apparently my Fit tried to kill the Si to steal the K...
It didn't work, sadly...

Staged and ready

Leaving the track- note the DIY silver headlamps.

Wow!!! That looks like so much fun!!
I would love to take my Jazz out on a track, even though its stock standard, I would love to experience how great the handling is to the full extent.

Yea, the car in its stock form is actually pretty surprising- a hint of understeer at some corners, but for the most part it just holds the ground. Well, as much as those all seasons allow...

Thanks for the comments guys!
As far as the headlamps, stay tuned, I'll be putting up a full DIY when I get home today! Same procedure that I used on all of my cars, but this team seemed a lot easier...must be experience with popping off headlamps haha

What tires are you running? Surely not the stockers?

Yessir- definitely burning through the stock rubber. I got my first oil change yesterday and the tech said that my fronts looked "little worn"... I'm at 5/32 of tread in the front now! haha It's a good thing I have some free used Hoosiers on the way, followed by a set of Avons!

Oh and have fun autocrossing this weekend! I'm heading to another track day up at Gingerman on Sunday, then next weekend I have two autocrosses to go to, then the week after that I'm tracking up at Blackhawk farms! October is more or less race month for me now- I think a tire rotation might be in order...

The Fit was fantastic on the Dragon, which is the best driving you'll find here in the Midwest-ish. Stock suspension and all, it still put a lot of cars to shame!

Pictures from that excursion are seen here:
