Hood deflector installed!

Hi guys, I just purchased a hood deflector from the dealer and installed it myself. Took around 20mins, and most of that time was spent lining up the bumpons. I opted for this because if a sharp rock was to fly towards the hood, I do not believe a clear bra could protect as well as a deflector. Plus, I think it looks pretty cool. Here are the pics, enjoy!

And yes, that is my hand blocking the sun.

looks nice, don't take it through a car wash. I get people asking for warranty after they do that....

Is it safe in a touchless wash?

I ordered mine from the dealer. The installation wasn't too hard. Comes with two plastic connectors for each side, four for the front (pre-installed). No drilling or anything required, just a screwdriver. Also two clear 3M bumpons to stick on the hood so the deflector wouldn't touch the hood. You actually have to push down pretty hard for the deflector to even touch the bumpons. I could probably have omitted them and still be OK.

That makes sense. I just put one on the Matrix and was debating doing the Fit when it arrives (hopefully soon ). Have to consider the trade off.

I can't find this anywhere in the US. Can you tell us what dealer you ordered this from and their website if possible?

I would gladly pay shipping to the US for this.

Here's the info you guys wanted I believe all dealers in Canada would stock this. Not sure why the States wouldn't have this.

Entering that item number into different Honda parts websites returns no results.

I don't know why it would not be offered here in the states.

How much did you pay and would you be willing to pick me up one and ship it to me? Of course I would pay all expenses.

Thanks.

I guess its a Honda Canada part number? I double checked and that is definately the part number. I picked mine from Dow Honda, DOW Honda - 845 Carling Ave, Ottawa, 237-2777 but any Canadian Honda dealer can order it no problem.

rock shield. how effective is it?

I just wondered what the story is and how does the rock shield work? My guess is it creates a wind sheild? or perhaps the little lip on the sheild actually protects a large area of the hood.
For some strange reason I have not read any thing objective or subjective about the product.
How would it compair to getting 3m protection?

The hood deflector "deflects" incoming rocks from damaging the hood (and sometimes the windshield). The hood is metal, so rock chips will eventually start to rust, unless you touch up. The hood deflector is a physical shield protecting the hood of the car, and has a curve at the end to redirect rocks above the car. In my opinion, the hood deflector will protect the hood better that 3M protection. I dont think a sharp rocking flying towards your car at 70mph can be stopped by 3M film? 3M owners please chime in.

Just my $0.02
