Need more 12V sockets, and/or USB outlets?
I've been using a 2 Outlet, Fused Cigarette Lighter Adapter plugged into my 12V socket. I always have my GPS and Radar Detector connected to it. The problem I have, is that if my phone ever gets low on power, I would have to unplug one of those devices just to recharge it.
I don't know how others feel about this, but for me, this is a real hassle. This is especially true if I am already on the road.
So, to make life simpler and safer, I installed a combination Dual 12V / USB Socket.
Now, I can keep both Mrs. Mac's and my charger cords hooked up at all times (via USB). This will make recharging BOTH phones a lot easier.
I Velcro'ed the unit to the left wall of the glove box. I positioned it so that I can keep the retractable cords permanently connected, yet still be able to close the glove box (picture was taken w/o the cords attached so that the USB ports are visible).
Now, no more worries about dead phones. I also have 2 more available 12V sockets to use for any new accessories to come!
