I would take it to a specialty shop and have it done correctly. The parts to replace what you break will be more expensive than the money to have it done by a pro. If you have to do it yourself I would look at some of the installs on here. I'm pretty sure there are a few DIY's on here.

If you are determined to do it yourself, the doors should pull off after you've pulled the three screws and the cup behind the interior door handle. The HVAC has three cables that run to the vent selector, the recirc control the heat/cold selector. They pull out after you unclip them. As for the power wire, I had an auto so I drilled a hole in the plate that is there for the clutch pedal assembly.

If the Fit is a pain, you've never worked on a BMW, Benz, Porsche, etc...

Sounds like no patience so sell it.

If you have a GE then go here for door panel removal.

I could probably take my door panel off in less than a minute.
Calm down and search for a thread with more details.

I know there is a GD thread for door panel cloth recovering so it should have door panel instructions.

I've also seen various stereo install threads.

Calm down she says. Now that is a good one.

Nah trade for a GE. The door panels were upgrade on the GE so we could mess them up more easily.

I can tell you this, if you have NO patience don't bother you will likely break something either the car, or the audio gear and then you are out money. It would be better to pay someone to put them in than damage the gear or your car in the process. When I did my car, I didn't even research how to remove anything, but with my experience in doing car audio it was a bit easier for me to figure out. But someone with no experience as I said will break something or just get frustrated and quit. No need to get frustrated either do the leg work in research or find someone to install it for you.

Hell, you are in Tampa, I am in Orlando if you wanna do the drive I can do the install for you and I will give you an amazing price, you can PM me if you are interested in that option.

Are you talking about the three under the armrest? I used to flex it slightly and use a flathead or a panel tool to release the clip and pull it from front to back. At the rear of the armrest (or the side farthest from the door hinge) is a tab. The clips at front must be removed first then pivot it towards the interior of the car so you don't break the tab.

You need to use some plastic fastener removers. Use one to gently pry the trim up and look for the plastic clip that connects it to the door. Slide the remover under the the clip and lift it up and it'll pop right off. I bought these and they work great:
