Help creating WMA cd for Honda Fit Sport

Need help creating WMA Cd to play in Honda Fit Stereo.
I create a data CD with WMA's 64bit, but it will not play.
The stereo detected that it was WMA's and I could navigate some of the
folders but not music. Is there a specific directory format that is needed?
The WMA's have spaces in the title names.
The CD plays fine on the PC.

Why not just use MP3's instead of WMA's? I hate WMA's because of the security and copy protection BS. The few WMA's I have all got converted to MP3 and burned to CD. I've got 3 CD's with probably 30 some odd hours worth of MP3's that I keep in the car and just rotate them out depending on what I want to listen to. I wouldn't go out of your way to burn WMA's unless that's all you have. If you need something to rip MP3's this program is free and works very well. http://www.cdburnerxp.se/

I agree with going MP3 instead of WMA. If you go variable bit rate or lossless, the WMA files are way larger for the same quality level as MP3. I prefer quality over file size and I FIT about 65 songs per CD. I set the player to random and enjoy the tunes. You can FIT more songs if you want to lower the quality. BTW, I used Windows Media Player to rip the songs to MP3. Very easy interface.

I have an Ipod so I use Itunes even though I don't use my Ipod in the car cause I will not leave it in the hot car. The MP3 CD player has been a life saver. The only thing about I tunes is you never know if there are gonna be folders or not. Sometimes they are all in the same folder.

I'm guessing that you have the "rights" for the files. The fit will not play any files that have "rights" because it cannot verify them.

If you're burning an MP3 CD with iTunes and you want to break each album into separate folders, just click on the ALBUM column header. Your playlist will be sorted by album and track number in iTunes. When you burn it to CD each album will be in its own separate folder!

Originally I was burning everything to one folder, but navigating 100+ songs on a CD is a pain. It's so much easier using folders.

Check this out.

http://www.kenwoodusa.com/products/L...k3=172&pr=2357

Kenwood KDC-X890

It's not the only Kenwood that has it, but it will take a USB drive of any kind.

So load up a 2, 4, 10, 20 Gig Memory Stick with all your MP3s from your Home System and you're set. Or you can use a dockable USB Hard Drive. You'd just need a power convert in the car. Easily done though.

Ebay has them for like $225.

Best part. You can set your home Computer up to synchronize you MP3 folder with that Drive. So everytime you download a big batch of MP3s, just plug the drive back in and sync it up.

Awesome stuff. No more burning CDs. Then all you do is custom mount the USB Port in the dash. Cool stuff!

If it's anything like the Kenwood MP3 stereo I've had for about 6 years then you need to have a higher bitrate 96 minimum just to play at all. And the manual recommends 128 or better.

I have been listening to MP3's on cd's for years and I wouldn't listen to less than 128 bits anyway when listening to music.

64 bits would sound awful. And WMA may be smaller but the sound quality is poor as well.

Several folders are needed too. The Kenwood says 50 files per folder max, remember this is about 6 years old but 50 songs per folder is plenty anyway and you can fit 160 to 200 songs on 1 cd average. That's 11 and 1/2 to 12 and 1/2 hours per cd.

It would only go so many folders deep but I don't remember how deep it was off hand. And you shouldn't put many if any files in the root of the disc.

I'm bumping this thread even though it's over a year old. As near as I can tell the CD player in the sport will not play WMA audio files. It can read the name but just gives the "format" error on every file. The manual states on page 177 that the compatible file specs are sampling frequency of 32/44.1/48 khz and a bit rate of 48/64/80/96/128/160/192 kbps. I have burned a CD at 48khz/64kbps that will not play. Anyone had any luck with the WMA format at all? I like the ability to load almost twice as many songs per CD at this setting.
