Looking for VSS signal

Anyone know where to find the VSS signal on the Fit for Navi hookup?

Thanks

thats what i have listed from directed. alos u can see it in the wiring pinout listed in the aux input threads.

the radio likely has the automatic volume adjustment that turns the radio up and down depending on speed to compensate for road adjuting ambient noise.

What about backup indication?

In addition to the VSS wire, the AVIC-D3 needs to tap the backup light wire. Is there a place to tap this somewhere near the dash?

If you mean backup as in power-when-the-car-is-off, that's A17 white/red on the radio connector. If you mean backup as in transmission-in-reverse, that's a green/black wire somewhere in the 2nd or 3rd harness connector from the top of the dash fuse box.

backup indication

Backup as in reverse and the white tail lights come on.

Thanks for the quick reply.

I think the last signal that I need for the AVIC-D3 is the parking brake indicator. I'm sure there's a microswitch somewhere near the handle itself, but I'd like to tap the lead as close to the headunit as possible to avoid a long wire run.

Thr3 - did you find this wire in the end? Are you using the bypass hack?

Avic-d3

I haven't found it yet. I still haven't purchased the AVID-D3. Like everyone else, I'm waiting on the dash kit. I'm trying to get all the required information to decide whether to put this in myself or to use an installer. If all of the required leads are close to the head unit, then it shouldn't be too hard to do myself. The one piece that still bothers me is the GPS antenna. I haven't seen an example of this installed on the Honda Fit.

Unfortunately the service manual lists two different colors for the parking brake wire -- green/red or green/orange. (I don't have the electrical manual.) In any case the harness appears to run along the console and then up behind the radio before branching off to the gauges, so you can probably tap it there if you can identify it.
