Greddy Informeter + Fit = No Go?

Hey all I had a greddy informeter (OBD2 Scanner) in my last car and figured today what the heck lets plug it in. For whatever reason it is not reading anything. It gets power off the OBD2 and turns on but states communication failed. Anyone try a similar tool and have an issue? Please let me know I'm going to email greddy as well.

It is made for any OBD2(1996+ USDM) car. The fit has an obd port you can feel it under the drivers dash to the right hand side. The fit has to be OBD2 for emissions compliance (so it can be plugged in for smog).

Well I just got off the phone with Greddy and they told me they have issues with other cars such as the RX8 and it is not unlikely there is an issue with the fit despite the fact that it is OBD2. THey told me to check back next week or so. that thing is cool I hope they fix it.

just because the greddy piece is obd2 compliant doesnt mean itll work. a lot of newer cars use different software and scanners cant read it.

The Informeter works in the Fit in Japan, the Australian Jazz (both Japanese and Thai manufactured) and the Thai Jazz. You may want to contact Greddy in Japan as they may be more knowledgeable about getting it to work since they have had the Fit for the last 5 years.

I don't think there is too much they can do... unless maybe the pins are in different positions and I have to rip apart the harness? Do the honda service manuals show the pinouts on the OBD2 port?

we might be too lazy to learn english too :-)

the obd port is the same, it's just the communication protocol that is different for the newer (2005+) hondas.. my mechanic has the same issue with his snap-on scanner, need to put it into obd2 only mode instead of honda mode

Actually, I think English is part of their standard curriculum in middle school(?). It's just that they don't learn it very well since they don't have the environment to use it correctly.
