A semi-technical question for component speakers
Hola everyone. This is my first post here. I am hoping to be getting my FIT soon, but I want to be prepared to replace the main speakers. I have a pair of Eclipse 5-1/4 component speaker ready for hookup, but I am trying to figure out how the original factory is set up. As far as I can remember, on my Honda Accord 96', the factory component speakers were wired up in series, where there is a resistor (and possibly a coil) to the tweeter as a high pass, then to the midbass driver.
How do you guys pull the wires? On the Eclipse speaker, it has to go through a crossover. I'm trying to figure out what point to pull the wires from to go into the crossover.
Thanks.
Andy

Take the wire from the mid bass speaker.
and then put them to your input on your crossover
LF Speaker +/- green/black - lt. green
RF Speaker +/- green/yellow - gray/red
LR Speaker +/- blue/white - blue/black
RR Speaker +/- pink - blue/yellow
those are the speaker colors i suggest you follow
then from the crossover run new wire to each piece.
new wire to your new midbass speaker and new wire to yur cross over.
thats how i did mine
i fit 6.5 in mine but 5.25 will fit, just make sure you have speaker spacers becasue there isnt much room.

hey
You cannot take off the grill on the door. You will have to remove the door panel. My advice is start from bottom and pop them out and then slide it up and etc.
I ended up using the stock speaker bracket and cut out the speaker and tossed it. I have to trim the inside of the door panel about a quarter an inch to get the new components to fit. Good luck!
