What would be great if there were an open source solution that would play avi, and mpeg files right from a USB thumb drive (don't really need old school DVD capability). Just give me good sound, a nice 9" monitor, and a barrage of other in/outputs, plus the ability to transmit the audio output via RF and I would be SET! Anyone know if a unit like this exists (links please)?

Im gonna mount 2 5" clarion screens into the back of the front headrests in August. Ill update.....

 

bump my own thread here....just curious if anyone scored some Black Friday deals for rear sear DVD entertainment...I'm looking to do something back there in the coming year or sooner depending on the deals that crop up. Got any pics to share yet?

 

The kids have iPod touches... no need to wire something in the car these days. I'm sure not getting back there to watch anything!

 

I've got head rests in the Accord, and rarely use them. Granted I don't have kids but like Occam stated with phones and iPod's it's hard to beat.
