Best way to have subs & space

Best way to have subs & space
So here's my dilemma. I just bought a new 2010 Fit Sport last weekend and am now in the process of getting a new audio system put in. I've already looked at hu's and so far the Pioneer AVIC-Z110BT is looking like exactly what I want (any other suggestions are welcomed). I am now looking for components & tweeters for the front, coax's for the back & then I was going to go with 2 JL 10w6's for the subs. My dilemma is that I am a gigging musician playing anywhere between 1 and 5 shows a week, so I HAVE to keep the cargo area clear for all my gear (guitars, amps, sometimes a full drumset). Is there a way to install the 2 subs that will leave all of the cargo room open but not lose any punch or volume from the subs?
Also any recommendations on speakers and amps would be awesome too. Thanks!

I saw a thread where someone used a shallow 8" driver in a shoe-box sized enclosure over the passenger side wheel well. It looked completely out of the way, but it may not put out the same bass the pair of drivers you are thinking about (how about definately not)

you could get a shallow mount and put it in the spare tire. it's been done, but you're not going to be able to retain much room with w6v2s and a proper box.
sub in the spare, and some small amps you can mount anywhere, i recommend jl xd, arc audio ks mini, or jl hd for small amps that you can mount almost anywhere. (they're listed from least expensive to most expensive).

Thanks for all the info! Money's not really an issue, I just want to get the best sound possible without losing cargo space. All of the given ideas sound like they would work, just gotta decide which one to go with. I like the JL HD amp. Would I only need one amp to run what I want to run?

Perfect, any speaker recommendations? I've already picked out my subs, but haven't decided on speakers yet. Replacing all of em, front and back. Have heard good things about an all JL system, any opinions?

it could work, jl stuff isnt bad, although it could be argued that they're over priced, but alll in all, just make sure the installation is done right, and it should sound good.
be sure to deaden and stuff and dont cut corners and u'll be okay.

Good to know that JL is overpriced! I've just seen a lot of people on here with them and a lot of love for them here and other places. I don't know what you mean by using rainbow if it's active, but since I don't know what it is I'll probably pass on it lol. I'll check out memphis though.
I should be a little more specific. It's not that money is no object, I'm just willing to wait until I have the money to get what I need to to make this thing sound incredible. Oh and I don't know if it matters, but I mainly listen to rock, hard rock, metal, that type of stuff.

There's of course a difference between manufacturer's of audio components some use different parts, different composites but price is usually a partial indicator of quality. As for what is best, there is no best it's all opinion based. Some will tell you Image Dynamics for example, others will say JBL and still more will say other brands.
I would take and make yourself a test disc, a mix of some of your favorite tunes and then go sound shopping. Go to some retailers and test out different component sets with your test disc and decide from LISTENING what you like. Your ears can only tell you what you like, if its a $150 set of entry level JL's or if its a $400 set of Image dynamic components. After all its your car, your ears and your music, this method ensures you get exactly what you want.
For example, here is a link to what my Front stage will be. I love the way these sound and I can throw a ton of power at them and they love every minute of it.
JBL
Hope this helps.

active crossover, crossover settings are done pre amp, so you dont use the passive crossovers that come with the set.

Usually the setups I've seen in our cars use a false floor for the crossovers and amps and a custom fiberglass enclosure on the right side of the cargo area for the subwoofer. That's pretty much the only configuration I've seen that allows you to save cargo room.
