will this work with a fit base?

i have a base fit and i wanted to add the aux input without cutting wires and hooking them in the back like the DIY says. did not see anywhere that someone tried this:

i read somewhere that the base fit has a 14 pin plug in the back. will this plug work on my car? i see alot of these on ebay and on the internet.

HONDA 14 PIN iPOD MP3 3.5MM RCA AUX INPUT MODULE - eBay (item 200457230350 end time May-02-10 11:54:59 PDT)

i was just thinkng about buying the dashkit and putting my kenwood headunit because it has a aux port already, but i want to keep the stock radio because it lights up blue, unlike the kenwood which lights up red.

either way im going to spend 50 bucks. just wondered which way to go and if this cable will work. thanks!

The cable may work, and it's a hell of a lot cheaper than the honda part. However, if you have a Kenwood deck, I'd bet dollars to doughnuts that it will sound better.

IMHO, sound quality is a far greater concern than aesthetics.

Change the head unit

Either way you are going to have to pull out the dash and the old head unit, which can be a lot of work. I was considering just adding an AUX to my 2007 base Fit, but by installing a new head unit I could also have a USB connection in addition to the AUX.
