digital amp 10" sub do i need a cap?
#3
Look on the side of your amplifier, if the fuses equal less than 30 AMPs total (sum of all the fuses on the amplifier chassis itself, NOT the wiring), you probably don't need to do anything at all.
If it is above 30 AMPs in total I still don't recommend using a capacitor unless you are too cheap to fix the real issue, which is insufficient alternator output and/or power delivery bottleneck.
One thing I do suggest is to upgrade your "big 3" wiring to 4AWG to allow as much current as possible to flow freely between your battery, alternator, and electrical equipment/chassis. If you still notice your lights dimming (more than usual), its time to get your alternator beefed up or replaced. Have fun!
