Car Alarm: Viper vs Clifford

After have my emblems stolen and my car keyed I figured it was time I invest in a car alarm, something I would have probably done along time ago. I am debating between the Viper 5901 or Clifford 50.7x of course with back up battery etc etc.

I was wondering if anyone here has first hand experience with these two alarms on the Fit or any other car.

I believe the Viper 5901, Clifford 50.7x and the Python 991 are all the same alarm made by Directed Electronics.

Sadly an alarm would do little to prevent stuff like that

i put a python 991 alarm with remote start and gps track in my wife's fit. it werks great no problems. i installed it my self. i am audio installer.

she also has window mods front and back so you get one touch in all four doors, tilt, motion, glass sensors, and interior sirens. on it as well as second battery for the system and the alarm. all tested and werks.

the tilt sensor is for protecting the ssr schumachers. the motion sensor is for the idiots who look too close in the car. the glass sensor is for the jack@$$ who try to break the windows. the interior sirens are for the fools who try to cut the out side siren thinking it will shut the sound off. the second battery is for the pros who disconnect you battery and steal you car. dont worrie there are a couple of fuses so you cant short it out. finaly the gps tells me where the car is at all times, a big plus it calls our cell phones and tell us something is wrong (if it moves or any of the sensors go off.) as for the emblems, i mounted one shock sensor in the rear hatch and one close to the front emblem. she has not had a false alarm yet. i did all this 2 days after we bought it. that was in july 07. unfortunately i have done this to all of our cars.
i know i have too much time on my hands, but if you do high end audio systems you got to have it. plus i use it as a selling tool. feel free to ask questions.
