im going to make my own. i have some print that i bought that i wrapped some of my bucket seat in and that i WAS going to do the headliner with but not too sure now.

no custom headliner??? i saw the thread. that would be so freaking sick.

might still do it but my material is really thin. id have to spray the liner and let it sit for awhile till it gets sticky and make sure it doesnt bleed through. im just afraid im going to mess it up and have to buy a new headliner

soo...... you gutted your car to make it just a little slower than a manual transmission fit

Yo Arick! Man, you gone nuts with the weight reduction. Are you coming out to the bbq in Feb? It will be in Houston.

No wonder why you think its underpowered, you have an auto.
My car moves pretty well.

I had thoughts of removing the back pieces but Id rather not hear my exhaust that much more.

ive gone bat shit crazy with weight reduction. i just took off all of my lips, the front splash gaurd since it was already ripped to shreds, finally grew some balls and took out the spare, jack and tool kit. hopefully ill get another day off soon so i can take out the head liner and rear door panels.

once i get my new radiator support, have all the dents taken out of my passenger door and fenders im going to be getting a carbon fiber hood, taking off the hood locking mechanism and all attached non sense and switch to some aero catch flush mount locking hood pins. i also plan on getting a carbon fiber hatch and doing the same thing as the hood, rear wiper delete, carbon duckbill spoiler, carbon buckets... oh and h-fit is making me some mounts so i can use apr carbon fiber gt mirrors, which means i also get to remove all the motors and what not that you need for power mirrors.

all this light weight craze and im still running on the oem wheels
i dont know if i want to switch out to some light weight 15's or just repaint the oem wheels. i still love how they look.

im not to sure if im going to make it out to the BBQ i have to make sure i have that day and the day after it off.

eh i didnt do it just for the speed aspect. shedding all that weight improved just about every aspect of the cars performance. better handling, way way less body roll... and im still only running skunk2 lowering springs and stock struts . better braking, totally better gas mileage. i could go on about what ive noticed since i lost all that weight. plus it looks freaking sweet!!!

why don't you take the unnecessary stuff in the engine bay off!?
how about the badges - foglights?
antenna?

just take out the whole passenger dash side

rear door panels

wheel caps

start shaving the sub frame underneath

lol

I just gutted my whole car today. Pulled the carpet, headliners, all airbags, etc. Still need to pull the door panels.

Ok cool that u took pics and are tyring something i have not seen with a fit. But u lost what a 100lbs the fit is still going to be slow. And i would only do this to a track only car not my DD. U want the car faster now turbo it. This car will never be fast but maybe quick. I would take out the seats in the car like passenger and rear. But not all the liner like u did. But like i said props to u. I want to trubo my fit and get a bucket seat for the driver side and take all the other seats out. but that is far from soon for me.

Oh i forgot urs is a automatic that is why its slugish than. u might as well change the rims too. If u go that far might as well go all out

gutting it doesnt help all aspects of it.. it throws off the weight balance..

I love it! There's a guy over on IWSTI that calls himself anorexicSTI and he has a really long thread on everything he's done to his STi to drop weight. He got over 350 pounds off the car, might have gotten to 500 pounds by now for all I know. He did crazy stuff like gut the interior, replace steel hardware with Ti and Al, itty bitty battery, that kind of thing.

Keep it up, but please please take the thing to a scale...

Like i said cool on a track sti or any fast track car. But on a fit not my cup of tea but i would take out the seats
