Head Unit or Speakers???

My stereo is completely stock should i put in really nice speakers and leave HU stock (for now) or put in nice head unit first then speakers???

Speakers i want are Alpine Type R's or Infinity Kappas
HU would be an Alpine one haven't really thought about it much. Limit is about $250 total for now.

headunit first
than speakers imo
headunit will be able to process your stocker speakers better
and when you have more money
upgrade the speakers, and it will sound even better

stock radio will not make new upgraded speakers any better..well a little, but not much

this day in age getting a new HU is not needed unless you want to spend the money for something you allready have, go to your local car audio people(NOT BESTBUY or like if) and talk to the real experts, tons of things you can do even with little money but if you want to spend lots and get nothing for it than ya go to best buy and toss you money at them, there like you more for it

Sorry, not trying to steal your thread but im car audio dumb! Do they use all the stock parts when putting in the new head unit? Or do you have to get something similar to the scosche kit?

or just get an audio processor that utilizes your stock head unit face and upgrade your speakers.

i know that for me, i like good quality treble as well as bass that fills the car..
process i always follow is new head unit(with sub outputs if youre going to get a sub), upgrade the speakers, then become a basser... lol
if youre aftermarket HU doesnt have the sub outputs, youre going to just have to turn all of the bass up to get some poundage and it will make the other speakers in the car lose some of their treble and high potential.

my integra has a kenwood HU, sony xplod speakers, and a 12" infinity comp woofer. im running less than half of what the speaker is capable of due to that lack of enough money to buy a 1600 watt amp.

and if youre gonna run ANY sub, its a good idea to get a capacitor.

i work at best but and the kit for the fit is about a good 300 bucks
that is just to switch out the stereo... speakers and sub would be your cheapest bet

to clear things up about keeping your stock HU wile getting aftermarket sound Q go to: price(699.99 MSRP)

Rockford Fosgate® - 3SIXTY.2=

i dont work for Rock but for the best sound out of you car use this if you still want to use your stock HU there is a chepter one that well run you the price of a new HU (399.99 MSRP) and it dont do near the stuff the other one can at:

Rockford Fosgate® - 3SIXTY.1=

!!!YOU NEED TO HAVE THEM INSTALLED BY A PRO UNLESS YOU KNOW FOR A FACT WHAT YOUR DOING!!!

and as always its up to you this is just to help you out i have the 3SIXTY.2 bing installed next month so i dont have to toss the NAV out in my 09.

if the web link does not work goto: http://www.rockfordfosgate.com look at there quick search on the pull down menu click in the OEM INTEGRATION and on the other one pick either 3SIXTY.1 or 3SIXTY.2
