USB adapter attachment kit compatible with the 07-08 fits?
My first post.
Been reading the forums but never posted yet until now.
I am just curious to know if the 09 honda fit usb adapter attachment kit will work with 07-08 fits? Also would the 07-08 Ipod adapter kit fit in the 09 fits?
thanks

If the adaptors use the CD Changer port . . .
. . . then they should be compatible. AFAIK, Honda standardizes the CD changer interfaces on their stereos every couple of years. If the plug in uses something else then you're probably SOL.
I have an 08 base and got a USB adapter (actually an MP3 player) that plugs into the CD changer port. I helped another fitfreaker plug a full (not just the headphone plug) aftermarket Ipod adaptor into his 08 HU and it worked great. We did both installs without pulling the HU.
UPDATE
Based on the pics here: https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/fit-...es-cables.html the USB adapter for the 09 fit uses the same CD Changer interface as the one on the 07-08 stock HUs.

does anyone have a link where i can find the usb adapter attachment kit? I've been hesitant on buying a new head unit since I've heard about issues with the aftermarket metra and scoche kits. This seems to be a good alternative.
Edit: Nvm, found it. College hills Honda!

Yes, here's two
www.collegehillshonda.com and www.bernardiparts.com both offer great prices on Fit accessories. Collegehillshonda has the 09 unit - I checked the instructions yesterday. It isn't cheap - $153 or so before shipping.
Since you're using the CD Changer port, you should get all the functionality a CD changer would have. For my 08 Base Fit, I bought a Chinese USB mp3 player off ebay. Total cost was about $100. Note the 07/08 HU won't display song titles or file names. Also, I was able to access the port without pulling the HU!!!!!!!
My thread is here if you want more info:

Thanks for the info. Right now I am debating to get the usb kit for my 07 fit sport or just get a new deck completely that has a usb plugin.
cost will probably be the same.
It just if i want everything stock or do i want it customize...

Some of the attachments can be had for $60 although they may not do all you want. Do a search for 'HON03' and 'xcarlink' on Google. On Ebay, search for 'xcarlink Honda' or 'Honda Fit mp3 player'. You will find some aftermarket alternatives.

I have a 2007 FIT Sport. I wanted to plug and play my MP3 but couldn't believe the cost of the adapter(s) from OEM and aftermarket. So, I lucked out and found a solution @ Radio Shack. It's called a Universal FM Transmitter by Gigaware, p/n 1200494 for an astonishing $19.99. It plugs into your lighter socket/accessory outlet. Then plug it into any device that has a standard headphone jack. It also comes with an additional "pigtail" adapter for a larger size. Then, it looks for a vacant FM frequency and displays it on a small transmitter (included). Finally, you find and match the frequency on your FM that is displayed on the transmitter and VIOLA! It sounds GREAT!
