Ideas for good low cost high power 2ch or mono amps

Hey folks, I need some recommendations on some good high power 2 or mono amps for subs. I recently switched my old JL 12w1 to a Boston Acoustics G2 sub. It is a dual voice coil sub that is a 8ohm speaker or 2ohm. When I plugged it in at 2ohm's at high volumes with the bass turned up it started clipping, so I am now running it in the 8ohm setting. The Amp is a old Coustic 401se. It is rated at 400 watts @14.4v in 4 ohm mono, so running the speaker at 8ohm it is only getting 200 watts. And since the rating for the amp is at 14.4v, the sub is seing less that that. The Boston Sub is rated for 300 watts RMS. It is currently in a sealed enclosure, but am thinking of adding a second G2 and running both in a ported enclosure. Sooooo basically I need a amp that can push at least 600 watts RMS in a 1ohm or 4ohm load monoblock, or 300 watts x2 in a 2ohm load. Sorry for the loaded question, but I don't want to spend a fortune, as I have found that the cheap Coustic amp has served me well for 3 cars, and over 6years, just now I am asking it to do too much. Hell it still sounds good the way it is currently setup, but after hearing what it can do for short bursts before it clips, I want more juice for the sub(s)
Thanks

Thanks for the ED idea. I am more into Home Theater than car stereo, and as many times as I have been on the ED website, I did not even know they had amps.
