removing oem headunit

removing oem headunit

ok guys i've remove all the screws already and all i have left is the pull the old hu out, i dont know where to start? the hu seems so firmly secure and i dont want to break anything or scratch the dash lolz where should i start in pulling it out? any tricks or techniques?

start at the bottom right reaching up as far behind the hvac controls as you can for leverage. that seemed to come loose first. then work your way up the right side. then loosen the top.

it takes a fair amount of muscle. i was afraid i would break it, too.

Make sure you've disconnected the HVAC control wires first of course, and all screws are indeed off. Then it's just a matter of pulling from the bottom. Wiggling it back and forth as you do it helps, I've found. Takes a fair bit of muscle, you shouldn't be afraid of breaking it - that won't happen.
