yup. Youd wire the coils in series (it will show you how in the owners manual) to get 4ohm load and away you go.

idk if you've already found your answer but my friend has a 10 inch Rockford Fosgate P2 Sub in a Ford Excape and that thing pounds harder than my 12 inch p3... and he's only got 300 watts to it.. so it all depends on the quality of speaker and amp you get...

Depends alot more on the enclosure and the car, not the amp or the sub even for the most part.

you would notice a difference in a cheap vs. expensive amp in most situations.. and the same goes with the sub. a 10 bought from wal-mart obviously isn't going to perform like a rockford sub.. im not sure exactly what gauge his wiring is and everything but i know its just a regular sealed box.

and i know ford escapes arent huge but its got more interior room then my integra..

Rockford power or punch series. cause punch series are wal-mart crap too.

im not sure which series it was but my friends mustang had 2 12 inch P3 speakers in it and it was nasty.. you could hear it from prob about 1/4 mile away and in the car it was really good bass.. covered low & high bass..

im not trying to say youre wrong or that im some know it all or anything but i wouldn'ly exactly say they are crap.. key west has a lot of people down here that like their bass and have taught me a thing or two..

Injundon DEFINITELY knows what he's talking about. I've read many of his posts on here and never once have I thought he was talking out of his ass or even found anything that I really disagreed with.

He's got some knowledge...advice is advice, but he's not trying to sell you anything and offering up this info for free. You'd be wise to listen.

the P3's are great for getting loud no doubt. But they lack quality. the P1's is what I was really referring to in my previous statement. the P2's as well for the most part. there are MUCH better subs in the same price range and cheaper even.

heck i have a single 10W1 in my spare tire well and it seems to hit hard enough. I mean, its not liek 4 10's in a 95 Civic hatch, but that's just silly.

cheapest clean sound in a fit would be infinity kappa dvc 10 or twelve wired for 2 ohms, small sealed box, and a jbl digital monoblock amp 300w rms. Thats plenty of clean bass and should be relatively inexpensive, like under 300 bux. Also, get good amp wires, like phoenix gold or monster, it makes a huge difference

A good single 10 hits plenty hard just for listening to music in your car. You're not going to set off car alarms driving down the street, but to do so you'd have to Dynamat the heck out of a car like the Fit and give up all your cargo space anyway. (Probably consider upgrading grounds, battery and maybe even alternator too...)

Build a properly tuned enclosure and it will provide plenty of bass. Put banana clips on the terminal cup so you can take it out if cargo space is a concern.

I was almost thinking of using a BasslinkII. I installed one in a MiniCooper with all kappa speakers, and the 250watt RMS 10" sub and passive radiator sounded really nice in the Cooper. Full low end sound, no earthquakes by any means, but it had good thump, the car works as a subwoofer box anyway.

The nice thing about the basslinkII, it has quick connectors, two bolts, and the whole unit comes out. pretty decent setup. No need to use a box design program to get perfect specs, and theres an expansion card slot for a 4 channel amp to house inside
