Garmin wire ideas
I have a Garmin Nuvi that I bought long before we got the Fit. I know that the hardwire install bracket available at Bernardi would work but a) I don't really want to drill holes in my dash hood; and b) what if we upgrade to a different GPS unit in a few years.
I'd like to get the friction mount for the dash but hate the wire dangling in front of the radio to the cigarette lighter. What is the best way to run cable from a dash mount down to the cig lighter?

Not sure how long the wire is, but if its long enough try this. I did this with my Xm and Navi antenna. I have them both on my dash. Ran the wires straight to the window, then tucked them in that space best I could. I bought some AC window foam at Home Depot, cut it down so it wasnt so thick, then pushed it in the gap between the window and dash to hold the wires in place. Run them along the side, then you can squeeze them into the parts of the dash where it meets the side pilar, then under the rubber weatherstripping, then under the bottom panel under the dash over to the lighter. Its less work then it sounds like.

The wire is definitely not long enough unless DH can splice two together. I think I can run the cord along the ridge in the dash that comes down to the right of the stereo. I just need to cover it neatly. Any ideas for cord concealment? Not really sure I want a dash cover. Too Swingtown. lol
