I have a few gadgets:
  • XM inno satellite radio (cup holder mount - hard wired)
  • Tom Tom One XL - (adhesive dash mount - hard wired)
  • Scanguage II
  • Escort Radar Detector (mounted/hidden in visor pouch w/ hardwired controls in dash [bottom left])
My favorite is the radar setup. When I get pulled over cops don't know I have it. They are nicer when you don't have one.

All of this and my 12 v ACC socket is still free.

I tapped the lead going to the acc socket and brought it back under the dash.

Nice. I may do that with my XM, since it will never leave the vehicle, whereas the GPS will from time to time.

That will free up a port on my 12v 3-way adapter.

Great info, thx.

It's a Trip Computer + Digital Gauges + Scan Tool.

I use it to give me engine info like water temp, gph fuel usage and calculate trip and tank mpg.

It's an awesome little gadget that is easy to install. Just plug it into your ODBC II port and calibrate it and you are set.

Web page here.
It's a must for any car nerd, or anyone that learning how to drive to save gas.

in the photo above it is showing:
MGT: Miles per Gallon for the current trip. (0 hadn't gone anywhere yet)
GPH: Gallons per hour instantanious fuel usage. (.33 gph fuel usage)
MPG: instantanious miles per gallon (0 hadn't gone anywhere yet)
TR$: total fuel cost this trip ($ .19)

You owe me 19 cents for these pictures.

man, that's a cool little unit. And it can scan codes. I just dropped $$ on a code scanner last year too. Oh well. So, being plugged into the OBCD II port all the time has no effect on the car I assume?

Oner more thing I noticed...(extra $.19 deposited into slot)
What's the switch next to your remote mirror switch?

No problem being plugged in all of the time. Tons of people use it, so we probably would have heard something by now. It get's power from the port and turns on/off automatically with the car. It was designed to be there all of the time.

That little switch is the mute button/power LED/Warning LED for my radar detector that is hidden away in a pouch in my visor.

More representin'.

Roady output can go right into aux jack, can't it? All that's left is power and sat antenna. Am I correct? Thanks.

Correct. However, I:
1) found that my Roady sounded better through the FM Modulator than the Aux adapter. (The Roady has FM amplification, but the volume level of the line out is iffy.)
2) wanted to preserve the AUX jack for my IPod.

Wow. Really? Okay. Maybe that isn't too difficult. The cassette thingy in my Dodge Ram sure was easy.

Thanks 4 info.

i have a sirius starmate 4, nuvi 360, external mic, usa spec/ipod thingy (still waiting on the kuda mount), and an ipod classic to hook up with various mounts.

my cell is going to be in my bag, as i have BT set up through the nuvi.

I have a Tom Tom GPS mounted near the hood over my meters, a radar detector of which I still am not sure of a good place to mount it, a Sirius Satalite Radio which is sitting in the space near my outlet. Still haven't figured out where to put it...

I also have an iPod adapter that line feeds into the audio in port near the sirius radio (I have a sport)...
