can definately do better on the speakers.
Diamond Audio S600s Component Speakers $199
Pioneer Premier PRS-D4100F Amp: Multi-channel $249
Diamond Audio D361i Car Speakers $109
$7 over budget, but will be much better sounding.
The Pioneer amp blows he alpine out of the water in sound quality. Same for the diamond audio components for the front.
Rears use an external crossover so you can bring the tweeter down 3 DB's as well..

yes and absolutely. Where I work sells Alpine as well as Pioneer, and we used to Carry diamond audio. I've heard all the components in various setups and in that budget with the limitation of onlinecarstereo.com it's the best ya can get.
10 years ago people would look at you like you were crazy for running more than 45Wrms .. times have change alot since components became cheaper and amplifier power is affordable now.
Realistically unless you crank the bens out of it to the point of leving yuor ears ringing for hours aterward, anything above 40Wrms is more than enough. Quality comes first. Also the Diamond audio speakers are very efficient. They will play about 4DB's louder than the type-R's.
You won't be dissapointed with the Alpine setup for sure. However you'll be much more pleased with the reccomendation I gave

lol wow... sounds like you know your stuff. I play my stuff pretty loud... but not INSANELY loud... like on my fit stock deck i usually have bass and treble at 4 and the volume at about 21 with my ipods volume at max.
So loud... but not insanely loud.
You think i'll be ok?
haha... i am REALLY trusting you on this one man... i gotta order tomo morning!

If you are at all dissapointed feel free to bad mouth me and negative rep me.
Alpine builds great units and processors. Amps are pure mediocrity.
Diamond audio is a seaker company it's all they do, They don't just build models that conveniently fall into certain price points to make big box stores happy.
The Pioneer amp is the exception to the rule. Normally Pioneer amps have always been inexpensive, functional and unimpressive. The PRS series amps threw everyone for a loop. They have amazing tonal qualities and fantastic stereo seperation. (for a purist audiophile this means a more easily distinguishable sound stage).
Choice lies in your hands.
Alpine is the safety net with above average quality, but unimpressive.
My reccomendation will bring your music alive.

Will I have any trouble installing? Do I need adapters etc.?
I am also looking at that Pioneer amp. It also looks good. I am using a Pioneer Deh-4000ub head unit.
Thanks for any help my man.

Focal ALWAYS gets a reccomendation from me. even their lower end speakers outperform almost anything twice as expensive. Also if you have a grandiose budget, CDT ES GOLD, Rainbow ProFi, Morel, Dynaudio, ...ore generic off the shelf stuff, JL audio, Infinity, Diamond audio, Kicker

Bonjour Injundon comment ca vas?
i have some 6.5" cdt hd braxials for up front and a set of 6.25 cdt coax for rear doors and image dynamics id-max 12" sub. Need some smaller sized amps to drive these speakers as I am hoping to do a spare tire well amp install to maintain the cargo area in the trunk. My current amps are soundstream VGA 800.2 and 500.4 but they are pretty huge and I think not as small or efficient as the newer class D amps. Are pioneer premier amps gonna cut the mustard here or can you recommend something else? To be honest most of my music listening is done via ipod but i try to keep my music compression to a minimum of 192/VBR so SQ is usually pretty close to CD quality. The ID MAX needs some serious juice. The ID guys reccomend 1000watts for that sub. Anyway let me know what you think will work well here.
merci beaucoups! and go habs!

the Pioneer Premiere amps are uncharacteristically awesome. Pioneer always made solid relible amps but were never so great in the SQ department. The new premiere amps completely changed that. They sound amazing. I've been using them more and more often in high end installs where the people can't afford Focal or Steg amps. The premieres are not that caliber, but pretty close and like 1/4 the price.

class d amp vs a/b
Could you explain that in detail please. I keep hearing that class D amps run cooler and cleaner(what ever that means).
I am trying to chose between the JL slash v2 3004v2 and the Pioneer Prs-D4200f for my fronts. They both seem to have great spec's.
Please help me understand the difference.
