hey you car audio guys, i have a question about my headunit

if i dont hook up the speed sensor on my headunit, does that completely disable the dvd playback feature? i cant get a dvd to work on my panasonic strada and i think it might be because i didnt hook it up.

you have to ground the ebrake wire or it will disable playback on the main screen unless the ebrake is engaged.

Yeah most dvd units have a wire that needs to be hooked to the ebrake, since its illegal to have a dvd playing in the front seat while driving. To get past that, most units you can just ground that wire and all will work. Just be careful!

Speed sensor wire is use for the navi portion.
To watch dvd you have to hook a wire to the handbrake which would see ground.
Some unit now require you to pull the handbrake then release and pull it again.
Check your manual to see how your is.
You can wire in a switch if you don't want to hook it to the handbrake or want to watch dvd while moving.

Almost all new head units with Navi will shut off a DVD as soon as you exceed you 5MPH anyways. I can't find the manual for your unit though so I can't tell ya. But panasonics to watch DVD's is usually just the e-brake wire needs to be hooked up. As with all things

Reading The Manual always helps
