Kenwood DNX7100 with kit
#2
The AVIC-D3 is easily 2 years old I believe. The nice thing about the AVIC is that it has an actual knob to control the volume. The Kenwood decks have really small chiclet buttons along the bottom and aren't that easy to press without looking. There is a brand new line of pioneer unit coming out with out navigation that is called the AVH-P4000DVD and AVH-P5000DVD that are priced nice at $500 and $650. Yeah they don't have navigation but lets face it. The navigation on the AVIC-D3 is slow and DISC BASED. You have to have the stupid disc in the drive to plot a route. I'd wait for the new pioneers to come out and get one of those.
And this should be moved to the Fit I.C.E. forum.

I have the DNX 7100 installed in my Fit and I have to tell you its great! I have pretty much everything hooked up except for a tv tuner and back up camera. The navigation is on a hard drive so NO discs!!! you can update the navi using a SD card. The system buttons are pretty bad only cause they are pretty small compared to the pioneer, other than that can't complain about it at all.
Here's a pic of the unit installed. Sorry for the size its all I had on hand.

The only double DIN I was considering was the Kenwood for the GARMIN navigation. It's the easiest navigation software to use IMO. The DNX is a nice unit but I just didn't want to spend 3 times as much on a deck for my car. I've seen the Metra kit in person and the flash in your picture just makes it look really ugly, haha sorry in person I know it looks better. I still prefer the recessed look of the scosche kit.
