Dimmer wire

Question,
On the Scosche harness, there are 2 orange wires, one or/blk and one or/white, which one is the correct wire for the illumination/dimmer!
Thanks AC

a bit more info might help out... are you installing a head unit?--
if you are then the dimmer switch (on the car) most likely wont work the head unit as they now have a menu function to change the display brightness, regardless of the position of the cars overall level. just pull the wires out of the harness (remove the pins and all) and you wont have extra wires, or just cap em off
only connect the wires that are there if there is no match its not gonna matter(most of the time)

usually the or/white is positive dimmer and the other is the illumination wire

i think most brands use blue and a blue/white wire instead of orange
match color stripes - if there is only one stripe match it and then the others go together

Sorry billmus86 ,
I'm finally going to install my Alpine CDA 9887.
I have the whole Scosche kit.
CDA wire is Orange in the instructions and the Scosche plug says orange is illumination/dimmer but it has the two orange, one with blk stripe, one with white stripe.
Just wanted to make sure on the wiring.
Thanks AC

i would match up the names of the wires then and pull any extras, you only need 8 speaker wires,1 ground, 1 power(in the main molex plug) to get it going in a stock fit-- antenna is on its own
there may be other times when you need your remote turn on and antenna lead if you had say a retractable antenna or a 2ohm system like a bose get-up where each speaker is self powered
sorry i have diarrhea of the mouth
