center armrest updates?
Hi everyone,
Have any of you installed a center armrest? I've got the links to a few places where you can get one (zetaproducts.net, qualityautointeriors.com, collegehillshonda.com - although their site says it's on backorder from Japan until the end of June...and it's now getting toward the end of July...), but was wondering if anyone had good success stories. I'd like to get one, just need some feedback on what people's experiences were with the installation, fit, comfort, etc. Thanks!

Last time we had a thread about this, a guy mentioned a company called MaxDax:

Apparently its basically the same as the Zeta one but its like $60 or 70 shipped to you from Singapore. That's the one i was gonna get when i got around to getting an armrest.

The one from Zeta is not going to work without the mounting screws. I purchased one and while it does work it is not as stable or as strong as I would like. Though I am used to having one that is about 15 inches wide and lays down on the seat (it is the center seat seatback that folds down) so it is an unfair comparision. You could unscrew it everytime but not sure that is going to be a good idea either. First the screw holes will get worn and second while the Zeta armrest is supposed to fold all the way up after installation mine does not. It goes part of the way but not all the way making removing the screws quite a bit harder if not impossible to do. I suppose I could just take a harder look at it and probably find out where the bind is but I so far have not had a need to fold it up so I have not really worried about it.
Not bashing the product it is an armrest and not meant to take much weight. It does what it says and my installation skills may have been the reason behind the not folding up properly. Though there is not much to installing it.

does anyone have experience with these ebay armrests? they look a lot like the non folding zeta brand, but a lot cheaper. they look like either chinese knock offs or zeta gets their products made in china and this guy gets them from the same vendor.

There are aftermarket armrests- see zeta products.
But there are also OEM Honda parts from Australia for Fit/Jazz Center console armrest storage and rear cupholders. I think it will be about $350 but this site doesn't have a price yet.

OEM Import! Much more than just an armrest! This console features 2 rear pullout cup holders and front cup holders that quick change into a large front storage area. The armrest itself color matches the black Fit interior, slides forward to accommodate shorter drivers, and includes a large storage compartment underneath.
