My projected headlights (GE exclusive)

Got my projectors in my headlights after much thought of whether the H1 or D2S morimotos were the way to go for my retrofit.

after much thought and weighing a bunch of pros and cons i came to the conclusion that the H1's did outperform the D2S version in every possible way in terms of sheer output and light spread.

The only draw backs to the H1 morimotos is the mounting and the bulb choice is limited to rebased philips or after market cheap chinese bulbs. i, however opted for the philips bulbs for my setup and i couldnt be happier of the brightness and output.

to achieve maximum oem-ness i have painted the reflector bowls in titanium silver and the shrouds are painted a tint darker than the reflector bowls to have that quality factory finish.

here are some cheap droid quality pics for yous.

dont mind the driver's side cutoff i have to take the projector out and tweak with the shield some more.

if anyone local or within a 40mi radius needs help hands on, on how to take apart your bumper/headlights, let me know. i would be more than willing to help out a fellow member. just pick up the tab for lunch/dinner/johnny blue on the rocks.

I have my headlights apart (an extra set), prepped and painted, and have had my bumper off before. I'm just scared about mounting the projector. How did you figure out where to make the mounting points in the bowl, and how to figure out wiring? Looks good btw.

theretrofitsource has it all. wiring made simple with their harness. D2S or amp style ballast and mounting points... if you are going the fx-r or fx35+fx-r lens you should use the wall cuttoff marking method to align. to mount just use dremel and some long thin bolts with nuts to level out the projectors.

Yeah, I have the fx35 kit from the retrofit source. My question is, how did you know how deep to mount the projector in the bowl? Doesn't the back of it need to align so that it can wire up and still keep the seal?
