Question about the JDM Tail Lights

Question about the JDM Tail Lights
I just got my JDM LED Tail lights from A&J today and after reading some of the post about them I still have some questions about the install. First the USDM lights have Four plugs: 1 Turn, 1 Reverse and 2 Brake. where as the JDM Lights only have Three Plugs 1 Turn, 1 Reverse and 1 Brake so I was wondering how that works out? MY other question is if I decide to go the route of Extending the wires what should I get for wiring? I have done some wiring before but I always just used what ever wire was laying around, if I extend them I want to do it right so I guess I was wondering what size wire I should pick up? Thanks for any info you guys can give me, I'm excited to get these installed.

Cant say for sure, but just common sense tell me that one of the brake lights just doesnt get hooked up, and use wiring at least the same gauge as what is already there. Just dont go smaller, and try and solder it for the best result.

Hey MNFit, if you get this all figured out and cant find a link to an actual install. Do a write up for the rest of us. I really like the JDM lights and was looking at doing it to my stable of fits one day.
Oh, and it will probably be a 20 gauge wire that you will use. Auto manufacturing wiring usually has a very thin layer of insulation covering it. Don't let that fool you.

You do leave the extra plug empty.
As for extending wires, I read what everyone else was doing and was ready to do that but.....I took a different route for a solution. I opened up the trunk area (wires fed from the driver's side from what I recall) and followed the wires and found that with a bit of pulling and loosening of ties etc, I could extend the stock wires to make it fit. It worked for me but as usual, proceed at your own risk.

Thanks, but I already got it all figured out and installed. I went with the extending route with no problems. I originally made the post so I could have a better idea of what I was getting into and have every thing I need before starting the install. In the end every thing went smoothly and I even wrote up a DIY on the install.
