I did the modification on one side and it still didn't sit well. So I didn't bother with the other side. I have the N1 tail lights.

Well done! Looks great. As someone new to this forum I would appreciate your help and patience. Will these lights still present the same short wiring problem with needed extensions. Thanks in advance for your help.

Again, the backup plug DOES NOT DIRECTLY FIT our reverse plug. HOWEVER u can get it to stay on because 2 of the 4 tabs do line up so it will hold snugly in place. I have had mine held on with 2 of the tabs for months and never had a problem. It's not going anywhere.

Of course, that's what i'm here for.

All the JDM taillights will have the wiring issue. It's because in japan, these LED taillights came on the 06-07 honda fit and all the JDM honda fits come with extended wiring harnesses, this is the reason why companies replicating the jdm taillights do not add a wiring harness extension because they are originally made to fit JDM honda fit's, not the USDM. As u can see, the USDM tailight has more bulbs plus they are in a different location.

Anyways, it's very simple to extend the wiring harness, there is even a writeup on how 2 do it. I did mine over 2 years ago and have never had a problem. If u do it right the first time, there is nothing 2 worry.

it took me forever to find this thread. I bought these lights because they looked clean, depos are always good fitment. the plug sockets and wire extensions kinda screwed me out of a quick swap when they arrived, put everything back to stock since I could only get brake lights to work no blinkers.

There's only like 500 taillight posts on this site, and this should be sticky'd so everyone see the mod and doesn't waste an hour swappin it, when they don't have thier soldering gear readily accessible. I finally have a day to do it, so its gettin done tomorrow along with the H&R springs

reverse lights, will install anytime.

wow. that is impressive. seeing this has totally changed my mind about not getting a replica because of the fitment issue. kevin, you're awesome and you have most likely convinced me to go with the DEPOs. +1 for you!

just wanna say thanks to the OP. I've got genuine honda LED tail and I had to cut off a small portion from the two bottom tabs when installing. Other alignment tabs didn't cause any problem so left them alone.
