drl gone after hid install..?
#2
sorry we don't have drl's on american cars. But ima take a guess from the knowledge i know:
drl's use the high beam bulb (or in this case, filament) and put it at 40% of its power when the car is turned on. They stay lit all the time. Now the hid's u bought, are they bi-xenon? if they are, then the hid's will light at full power because hid's are not like regular filaments if you send a lower wattage they will light. U need the full 12volt power to run them. Now if you got a single filament (h4 low) then u don't have a bulb hooked up to the terminals on the headlight socket where teh high beams go. This is why u are getting a DRL light malfunction. So i think ur next step is to get your foglights wired up as your DRL's like a lot of canadian owners have done when they switched to hid's. Hope that helps.
