Considering a new Fit

It's interesting that I wasn't thinking of a Fit until a week ago and now I am doing a lot of research on the net, checked reviews and forums, and checked the classified every 2 hours!

My gf had mentioned she would liked a Fit. It's likely that we will get engaged soon so I figure I can pick up a Fit and break it in now and she can drive it when we are married. Thing is she hasn't driving a stick in many years but everyone say the stick is that much more fun.

So I was looking at a few 2007s for sale. Then I read the GE has better sound proofing. Also noticed that a pre-used one isn't much lower in process due to low depreciation. With that in mind I think I will consider a 2013. However the 2014 should be out in August/September?? I have a 2011 BMW X3 35i now and I bought that in September of 2011. I should have waiting 1 month or so more and get the 2012. Same car, but 1 year less depreciation.

I noticed many people had owned fast/powerful cars before. It is quite interesting that they all like the 107 hp Fit. I am in Canada so some winter days it might be tricky to drive the Fit. If I do buy the car I will surely get good winter tires. With my X3 my snow tires are still in the garage as this winter wasn't too bad.

I am leaning toward the Blue or White Sport. I don't know the Fit name for different colors yet. Auto would be better for the gf but she can learn driving a stick.

I did some price research and looks like MSRP and whole sale price (carcostcanada) is only about $1100 apart. I should be able to go half way and make a fair offer?

On vacation and saw many Fits in Vancouver and Seattle. Must be a sign that I should buy one :-)

How's it going man, I researched for about 2 months on the fit and spoke with various dealerships before I made my decision. In the end I chose 2013 Tafetta white sport. So far it has not disappointed !

They're everywhere on the west coast here, I pulled into Walgreens the other day and there were four parked next to each other + me It was not a meet.

Good car, if the GF likes it too just get one, if you want the improved sound proofing get the 2012+.

fit does well as dd.

with snow tires they do fine in snow belt states as well.

as for the 107hp... the MT are quick. the AT's are dogs. ive owned the 08 MT sport which was soso quickish. the seat position wasnt optimal for me. i have the 09 AT sport which shifts smoothly, but is a dog but does fine for daily tasks, and a 12 MT sport which is actually quite quick and capable for dd and some motoring fun.
