Old Guy With New Fit!!!!!

I just traded my 2011 CRV for a 2012 Fit Sport. I was tired of getting 20 mpg with the CRV.

By the way I just turned 65 on the 11th of March. My last small car was a 1979 For Fiesta. I drove it for 9 years till it fell apart. Hope my new Fit lastes as long.....

Thanks for the welcome. Question???? What is a real world estimate of gas milage for my new Fit? I have the Sport model with the auto trans. I like a manual, but my legs say no.....

Welcome. You can expect an over all average around 33 mpg.

Welcome to the Fit family and to the forum. Good to see another WV Fit owner on here - not too many of us around. I am 55 soon to be 56 in May and absolute love my Fit. Of course, this Honda brought out my inner tuner and I have modified the car. I actually show in car shows all over WV and Ohio in import and tuner classes. Hope you enjoy many years with your Fit - I am hoping mine will take me into retirement too!

Hello to another Mountaineer. Also thanks for the real world gas milage update. With the price going up 33 mph looks OK to me.

From the old guy.....

Hi Greengo, I am 61 and just got 2012 Fit Base with Auto Tranny about 1 month ago,now with 1,200 miles on odometer, mostly 85% in the city, I noted about 32 to 33 MPG with moderate accelerations. I enjoyed it more than my past 2004 Corolla.

Old Gal here

Greengo
Welcome to the Fit Club. I will turn 64 in September. Got my Fit two years ago to replace a Subaru wagon which got around 20 mpg. I opted for the AT as well due to past foot and ankle surgeries.
I am at high elevation in that other mountain state so not sure how that affects mpg, but I average 29-31 in town and 35-37 highway. Have seen close to 39-40 when driving carefully.
I love my car and think it will serve me well for many years.

I belong to about 7 other forums. (Mostly gun forums). This is by far the friendless forum I have ever been on. It just proves one thing to me that the old saying, "You meet the nicesses people on a Honda" is not limited to just their motorcycle line. (If I remember right that was Honda's promotional saying when they first started selling bikes here in the 60's). My first Honda was a 1965 150cc road bike. That little cycle took me over 45,000 miles without any major problems.

I guess I can say I have been a member of the Honda family for almost 50 years.....Where does the time go?????

Now that is my kind of thinking.....One thing for sure, my new Fit will save me a bundle going to the doctor offices. It seems like when you retire your body quites working right. A feller looks forward to all the trips he will make when retirement comes, the only thing is they are too and from every kind of doctor under the sun.....

Wa Ho.....The Fed-Ex truck just delivered my new Weather Tech floor mats. (I've had them in the last three cars I have owned).

Later all.....I am going to "fit" the new mats in my new Fit!!!!!

Well....I made it back up..... (I do have a bad back.....) The mats look good and fit good. I had the mats that came with the car and modifided the new mats to use the mounting fictures that came on the original mats. (Better than Weather Teck's clips).

Mkane, I will check out that forum. I shoot 9mm and .38 spl. I use one or the other as my EDC firearm.

Again, You people are tops in my book.....This has been the best welcome to a newbie that I have ever had....."YOU DO meet the nicest people "in" or "on" a Honda"!!!!!

I am assuming you got the regular Weathertech Mats and not the Digital ones? My digital front mats did not come with any clips.
