HIIIIIIIII New to Fit, not to Honda
Hey guys,
I'm new to being a Fit owner, but been in the Honda game for a long time. Here's the breakdown of previous rides (at least the ones I can remember)...
The first (bear with me):
#2/3 (should have never sold the 87 wag):
#4 VX hatch so good on gas:
#5 89 CRX Si when I bought it all stock (only one I still own)
ODDBALL #6 72 Stingray went toward a house payment
#7 Cleanest wagon
#8 Not so clean wagon
The fleet:
#9 1st RT4WD wag
#10 98 2.5RS
#11 STD
#12 The toaster
#13 Haggard the FWD wag
http://i590.photobucket.com/albums/s...e/P1060144.jpg
#14 06 EX
#15 MY FAVORITE #2 91 RT4WD brought back from dead
Before:
After:
RallyX
#16 97 CRV snoooooze
Current (#5 above):
89 CRX Si, plenty of mods, no time to race recently
Currently under the knife *again* Hopefully once it's done it will have an H22 under the hood and glass roof up top.
Why I'm here in the next post...

So my wife's 97 CRV was doing pretty well, in decent shape. Recently had to do some work on the AC as it went out in 100 degree weather...not good for a 8 month pregnant girl trying to tote around a 1 year old. After some headaches with other things breaking when replacing relatively simple parts due to the 14 years it spent in New England, we decided it was time for a new car.
We needed something under $10k that was reliable and comfortable to haul around two babies. We were in between an Element, 1st gen Fit, Mazda 3 hatch, and Scion xB. Ended up finding a place that had all but the Element and also a 2nd gen Fit for sale. The '3' ended up being a 4door, the Scion had font end collision repairs I was worried about - was comfy but drove like a lazy boy, we used to have an Element, so we knew what we were missing there, and the 1st gen wasn't in as good as condition as we hoped.
After all was said and done, we decided the 2nd gen Fit Sport w/ 30k was a good fit for her and within our budget. Ironically, the name works well too cuz she's a fitness trainer. I decided to wash off the bird crap and snap a few shots.
See if you can pick out why I got such a good deal on it...
and cuz I was bored...

Cheap due to a salvaged title, not wrecked. A tree fell on it, and scratched/dented pretty much the whole passenger side. The dealer I bought it from popped the dent out of the fender and replaced the front quarter glass, and the rest is as is...very hard to notice. Will be a pain in the ass to resell due to the title, but that's fine as we like it.
Plans - we just got it tinted as it's hot as hell here. Next up much needed is new tires and when we do that, I'll probably paint the stock wheels, I'm thinking Bronze or Gunmetal. Any thoughts on color? Other than that, floormats and I need to get different foot mounts for the Yakima roofrack I kept from the wagon so we can haul some fun around.
Red wagon, sold it when we knew we were moving from Maine. Sold to a guy on HCW from Ohio that had it shipped. Made out pretty good on the deal, but I do miss that damn thing. I just didn't have time for two projects, and still have the CRX.
Been working a ton, have a 13 month year old little girl, and another girl coming any day now. We are considering trying to move to Arizona to be near family once our lease is up, then settle there for quite a while. We're tired of this nomad sh*t.
How you doin Bill? Still diggin Washington? When's the big day that we see pics of the Fit with cans hanging from the back bumper?

Congrats to you as well man! Looks like quite the catch and I'm sure soon enough you'll find out how many kids these things can haul as well. We're excited about the new little one too, but I know I need to finish the CRX H22 swap fast as I'm sure my free time will be non-existent soon.
I'll probably play around with photoshop some before going through with it. This burnt orange is tough to figure out wheel colors. Maybe even a matt black to match the rex.
The pics above ARE with the tint. I didn't get any before pics though. The heat was killer the last couple weeks though so we just had to do it ASAP.
