Question Honda MusicLink (for iPod)

Has anyone purchased thier FIT with the MusicLink? Is it worth the money? Can you control the iPod from the FIT's audio controls? And does the FIT's audio display the songs of the iPod? Last question, how does it work? thanks.

I just got it today. The delear took 5 hours to install. It is a cool product ever, it can charge the battery and using your factory audio to control the iPod. Sound excellent, but cannot display the song name on the Factory Audio System.

I didn't install the iPod link in the Glove Box, becasue it is stupid. if you just let them install it and without request anything, then you have to open the glove box while u using the iPod (Your passenger will kill you). I just request put the wire out under the A/C so I don't need to open the glove box, and my passenger will feel comfortable and happy in my ride.

Thumbs down

If you're not using the glovebox why not just get a monster dock cable and save big $$$

ha?

I didn't pay for that, it was free. I got a best deal on my car, and the guy gave that Music Link to me.

The 5 hour install was a waste of time it takes approximately 35 minutes for my dealer to install it.

Also DO NOT BUY THIS. It is a waste of money and time. Mine broke 6 days after I got it. It just stopped working all together. My blog has a story about it. Check my signature and look in the ipod category on the right side of the page.

Those are my 2 cents.

Are you 100% positive that the problem is the link? From time to time, my iPod would have issues when I connected to my Windows computer (it never had a problem when I synched with my Power Mac at work). The iPod would appear as though it was synced, but Windows never mounted the iPod. I had to do an iPod reboot. But that didn't always work... I ended up downloading the latest iPod updater from Apple, then reformatted and resynched with my Library. Then it worked fine... for a while. I had to do it twice in one month, before an SUV ran over my iPod (a story I won't get into right now).

Give it a shot and see what happens.

Believe me about this... My dealership spent time trying to fix it and finally said "we will have to order a new part". The link part, the black box, must have something wrong with it. The Honda tech tried everything else besides replacing the unit.

Also I tried various ipods, my friends nano, my nano, and a friends mini.

Cool. I just wanted to make sure you were aware of other possibilities. I believe you.

Let us know how it turns out.
