Thumbs up my current observation of the fit community

from what i have noticed, for the most part, fit owners seem very mature and friendly. it's unlike say, some honda civic or the volkswagen boards; where someone is always waiting and ready to flame someone just for the sake of being an ass and making someone else feel bad for having an opinion.

i must say that it's a very refreshing change of atmosphere.

Actually many of us are older people who appreciate an efficent car (in packaging as well as fuel economy). Contrary to the Honda marketing scheme.

Its funny that things turned out to be this way because you would think with a car that is cheaper then a Civic that more immature spoiled kids would want there parents buying one for them and talk all this nonsense about things they dont know anything about.

This is my first Honda so I am very happy I wasnt a member of any of those other forums that are notorious for people like that. The more friendly and mature the members are the easier it is to get something across to them and not fight about who's car is better.

exactly, the information that i've gathered about the car on this forum is immense because i don't have to filter through stuff about how this one guy hates "that car" because "this" was done to it.

Thumbs up FitFreak Forum is the place to be!

Can't begin to tell you how much I've appreciated this forum and the helpful people on it. This is actually the first time I've participated in any forum. I've heard people complain that forums attract kids, overblown egos and people with a chip on their shoulders. Maybe it's just that Hondas are practical, reliable cars and they attract sensible, down to earth people of all ages. I started with the official Honda site in early March and it was not much help. A search for more information on the Fit led me here, and even as more sites came on board and Honda beefed up its own, this is still the place to go. The only problem is that I stay up too late connecting with FitFreaks! (But it's worth it.) Thanks, everyone!

Yeah, it's decent. There are a few flames but it's not too hot. I'd like to see more trolls and flames on this forum to make it more interesting. Just joking.

This would be my first time of actually posting on forums and I'm pretty glad. Looking at what everyone has to say bout the Fit makes me like it more and more... spent all day today at work looking at it.

I second that.
My buddy is on a VW forum and I swear, I'm surprised people haven't met up and kicked the crap out of one another.
I'm new when it comes to modding and stuff, so I sound like an idiot. No one here seems to care, which is nice.

I'm happy the forum members are a nice mix of folks. Most of all, everyone's been respectful of each other making the site a lot easier to give and receive information concerning an awesome vehicle.

I've said it before -- when I was impatiently waiting for the Fit to cross the ocean, it was this wonderful Forum that helped me with plenty of helpful information, not to mention getting through the wait!

I got a survey form from J.D. Power. Kind of funny to read through all the possible problems a car can have. The first thing they wanted to know was whether I was replacing a car with the Fit (true), or if I was a first-time buyer. It will be interesting to read about the demographics for the Fit, but I think the Fit Freaks already have a pretty good idea of its universal appeal.

Seems like even in articles about other cars (like this concept sports car), they can't resist mentioning the Fit: http://www.mobilemag.com/content/100/354/C8054/

Of course I am joking. This forum is a delight, right down to how flame warriors and trolls are handled. I have learned a lot here. My wife just shakes her head while I type away. She no get it! I have already read my owners manual before I've received the car--how cool is that?

Thanks to all.

I agree 100% that this is an awesome forum! Hey...when I was visiting a certain (to remain nameless) board while trying to install my own speakers in my '98 Ford Escort, I received no end of grief for asking 'stupid' questions. It was only when they found out I was a 'chick,' (and an older one at that), the insults stopped...then I was just patronized. Oh well...I did wind up doing it myself (the speakers) , but I wouldn't post freely on that forum.

Thanks everyone! I have many months to wait for my Fit, and there's always something interesting to read on this site to help ease the wait.

this forum is one of the nicer ones, but give it time (hopefully lots of time) and the fit will become a hot tuner car and the dreggs of the earth will show up flaming away...

I don't know. Normally I get pessimistic about social settings, but from my brief time here I would believe that most of the members would have the wisdom to not feed the trolls. Not that I've ran into any yet
