New Fit owner!
My wife has been complaining about her 97 Ford Contour, and I can't blame her. It's not quite dead, but it doesn't have much life in it, and the mileage is terrible. I've been researching the Fit for the past week or so and the two of us have been excited about the prospect of getting one (even though I don't even drive!).
After some e-mailing around, I got a few quotes and we visited a dealer today. We ended up getting the Honda Fit Sport Automatic in Blue Sensation for $17,300 which also includes wheel locks. The 9.3% sales tax here in Washington ended up making the price less sexy, however, and we also opted for gap insurance. Still, everything added up to less than $20k.
We financed through the dealer and I believe it's 7.x% APR. Having read stories about 'spot delivery', we decided not to take the car home today so we could ensure that our financing is finalized before doing so. We'll hopefully find out tomorrow and, if we're lucky, maybe even end up with a lower APR than estimated!

Yup! Picked it up yesterday. Was hoping the APR would go down more, but 7-8% still isn't bad. A bit more than we were hoping to spend each month, but my wife loves the new car :P
I also learned that as part of the stimulus package this year, we can deduct the hefty sales tax we spent from our income.
