New Fit owner - first post

Just purchased a 2009 Fit Sport manual in Blue Sensation yesterday! I should be able to pick it up on Tues after work (had to get it from another dealer).
My old 2000 Saturn SL2 finally bit the dust last week and I didn't want to spend the $1K it would take to fix it (car's value was maybe $1700ish). I'd been dreaming about a Mini Cooper S, so I went to test-drive. Turned out that the Mini, while incredibly fun to drive, didn't feel comfortable or practical enough for the price tag. I went to the Honda dealership next door, test-drove the FS, and pretty much fell in love. It's fun without feeling stressful, if that makes any sense.
Black would have been the first choice for color, but I would have had to wait for special order. The blue looks like it's going to be beautiful, and definitely will stand out on the road. I'll have tinted windows, but other than that I didn't add many options.
Hopefully I'll be able to post pictures later this week! This is the first car I've ever bought for myself (the Saturn was a hand-me-down), so it's pretty thrilling.

Well, now I'm looking at picking up Thurs instead of tomorrow. I had the bright idea that I wanted Bluetooth integration installed, which will take a couple more days. Also added the cargo cover and all-weather mats instead of the carpet mats (it snowed this weekend and I realized exactly how gross that can get a car).
Also got a better APR on the loan, down to 5.0% - yay!

I got my fit on Wed night, and drove it 150 mi on Thurs. Unfortunately, this got it dirty, so I want to clean it before taking pics.

- easy and fun to drive
- tons of cargo space
- sits high
- feels like you're driving an aquarium (big windows)
- USB input to stereo is great
- 44.6 MPG according to guage, so probably more like 40, which is still AWESOME
- eye-catching color
- 35% tint is great against CO sun
- "auto select" function for radio presets is pretty handy
- the sound is really poor - missing a lot of mid tones - anyone have a fix? I guess I'll search the forums for that, but links are welcome...
- the custom dealership-installed handsfree bluetooth is poor quality, but they're going to fix that for me over the next couple of days
- it gets dirty - why hasn't honda come out with an anti-dirt force field yet?

Welcome to a new FitFreak.
I also test drove the mini Clubman, but found it's rear hatch area too low to work from. I like the nimbleness of both the mini and the Fit, though.
And, as far as mods go, I never expected to mod-out my econobox, either!
Like me, you might find that the mods are hard to resist.
Too much fun!

Hey mods, is there a way to change the title of this thread? I'd like it to be something like "blythe's 2009 Fit Sport (MT)" so that I can continue updating this thread instead of starting a new one. It's obviously not my first post anymore... Thanks for any help you can provide!
Meanwhile, I took [insert unnamed car's name here] out for a photo shoot today. It's taken awhile since it's been dirty due to snow ever since I bought it. Unfortunately, I forgot to turn down the ISO so all the photos are unnecessarily grainy. It was also way too cold for me, so I'll have to continue tomorrow (with emphasis on interior/accessory shots). These were the three worth posting:

Yeah, I like how people have either done that or gone with the red JDM symbol. I kinda wonder what it would take to paint it the same color as the car; that would look interesting.
