Hello from Cape Town, South Africa
Hi there, My name is Glenn and I'm a new Honda and a new White Jazz 1.4 iDSi 2008 driver...
Sounds like I've just joined AA! Well, actually I did get a free year's membership when buying the Jazz (Automobile Association membership that is), as well as Jazz mats and a full tank of fuel.
Why the Jazz?
I travel about 65km a day on my daily commute to and from work, with some traffic in Cape Town, before hitting the N1 (against traffic thankfully!). I wanted a small light car that was very practical. I first thought of VW Polo, Opel Corsa, even the Ford Fiesta all in Diesel. That was before I carefully considered the price premium of both the car and the diesel and I then came across the Jazz and this forum. (Thanks! You helped me make up my mind to get this great little car). A test drive later and I was sold!
A week after getting it, it saved a weekend away when my girlfriend's Outlander died and we had to pack a weekend's stuff (cooler boxes, luggage, etc.) and the two dogs in...the Jazz swallowed all this without even burping! All kit neatly packed away under the cover and the dogs in the back with the seats up.
I've been getting mid 30's MPG readings, although my current tank is the first I'm actually measuring properly. The onboard computer is currently reading 5.8l/100km (over 40MPG) at the moment (and that's with very spirited driving and AC) although I did manage to keep the first couple of days at 4.6l/100km! (Over 50mpg) just by going slower and trying out some coasting (in neutral down long hills) and in gear to traffic lights, etc.
How accurate is the onboard computer vs actual mileage/litres pumped?
Anyway - that's enough about me for now.
Cheers,
Glenn

Most of us aren't sure how accurate the on-board computer is with the MPG readings because the a good number of us live in the U.S. and our USDM Fits don't come with a MPG gauge. :-(
I'm sure some of our non-U.S. members can speak up and tell you though!
And welcome to FitFreak!
