i am not a Fit owner yet, but hopefully this week if things go right i will be trading my fullsized truck in on one ...

getting tired of spending 85$ a tank of gas and having to fill up sometimes 2 times a week hah ...

plus i want to get back into a car that has a good aftermarket following ... and have always liked some honda's ...

HOLY CRAP!!!! I think I saved my reciepts, I need to take a look at them. That's insane. Had you considered a hybrid when you were looking for a new vehicle? I thought about it but the cost of ownership is fairly high. I'd like a diesel. Hopefully Honda will eventually offer a Fit diesel or a Fit diesel hybrid, similar to VWs' Golf concept.

But diesel is over $4/gal now. Not the way to go IMO. Plus it STINKS!

i have thought about that, but my main thing is getting out of this truck that i still owe on .. but not be to much in the red over it .. so wanting something that has about the same retail as the trade in value of my truck ...

the fuel savings alone will get me back in the black within a year ...

plus i won't have to take into consideration the cost of fuel with everything i do as often as i have to with this stupid truck.

just got back from the dealership ... they appraized my truck at 18,700 .. which covers what i owe on it ...

but then they tried telling me the price of the Fit is 22,100 ... after i stopped laughing i reminded them that it is barely over 19,000 with every little thing checked on the honda site ...

so i told them i would be back later so they would have time to re-think the price of the car ...

will head back up there in a day or two, with some other quotes and print outs ... in case they try that 22k price again ... i know mostly they are just not wanting to have to pay me anything along with my truck ...

How old is your truck? If it's not too old, try CarMax (if you have one in the area). Numerous people have said they're way better than what a dealer will give you. You're better off not trading when you buy a new car.
