Back Bumper Protection: "Sure Step" ?
In Walmart today, picking up items for my brand new Fit (air freshener, sun shade) I noticed some rubber treaded pieces meant to be used to step on, presumably for those rails around the lower edges of pickups, or on trailer, or something. They are 4" wide and 17.5" long. I haven't measured to see how well they'd work on the back bumper, but they seem like they would give some heavy duty protection. Use 3M adhesive, and if meant to be stepped on, must hold strong, I guess. $8 for two of them, for a total of...35# long.
Any chance anyone else noticed them like me, but actually tried putting them on?

They sound pretty darned interesting...... Since there is 2 of them and my wife has protection on the bumper of her Forester who'd I give the other one to???? Maybe I could buy another Fit. If you have a plastic dog crate your dog rides in you could cut it in pieces to place on the bottom to keep it from sliding around....... Thanks for the heads up on it, I will be going to Wal-Mart..... Keep a lookout for me on People Of Wal-Mart.com

They are only 17.5" long so you'd probably use both at once. I've measured it out on paper and I'm going to go set them on my bumper to see how they cover. Also, they are atleast a quarter inch thick gotta make sure the door will open fine...
