tow hook strength?

How strong are the aftermarket tow hook? I am curious because I would like to use the tow hook to jack up my car when I do my oil change. Of course I'm just using the tow hook to just jack the car up and then use jack stands.

itll probably do it.... but i dont trust it. Just take a extra 2 min and do it properly could save you alot of time and money incase something does happen.

wtf?! using a tow hook to jack up a car? ive never heard of that. just jack up the car at the jacking points.

btw, the stock towhooks, both front and rear, are very strong. my brothers car got buried when he tried to drive on a loose gravel road, so we yanked it out with our jeep. VERY strong lol

I think aftermarket tow hooks look cheap. Im sure theyre stronger than they look.
Never thought about jacking up the car from the tow hook. I have a SUPER low profile jack and I cant get it under my car anymore. :-/

And yes the OEM front hook is plenty strong. I had my Fit pulled out from a dirt trail by my dads truck.

there's a huge black pyramid shaped jack point in the rear of the car meant specifically for jacking, that tiny tow hook can't be half as safe as using it.
