Mugen Grill....

I've searched, but alas with my luck nothing.

does the mugen sport grill (the one on the yellow fit on our homepage) fit the usdm fit? it probably doesn't, but i was just wondering.

The ebay one is also made for a JDM Fit, so it won't fit at all. It'll be awkward since the grill is shorter than the bumper.

actually it does fit the USDM fit cuz it was test molded off a USDM bumper. However, again it's ABS plastic and the fitment isn't 100% but it's pretty close.

The one off eBay? I swear that thing didn't fit at all...you can get it on, but it looks totally off:

I dunno Kev, but that is pretty off to me. Especially the last pic where it is painted white...bulging from the sides and doesn't sit flush with the bumper

Actually, it's not a replica of the JDM grill. It's just a very poorly designed and made grill.

This is what a real Mugen grill looks like lined up against the USDM bumper

I took this pic ages ago when i first picked up the grill but hadn't done the JDM front end conversion yet.

When the grill is lined up with one side:

this is how much overlap there is on the other side:

Well this is supposedly the ebay grille and it looks pretty good IMO.. the top part definitely fits better than the seibon cause there is no gap between the grille and the bumper.. how much is the ebay grille anyways? i'd get it if it fits like this^

The grille doesn't look like it fits that well up top in that position. Notice the middle is almost touching the hood while off to the sides, it has a larger gap. That gap should be maintained across the grille/hood contact area. I dunno, the eBay ones seem like they are soso or terrible. The ones in the thread I provided didn't fit at all!

What do you expect from a cheap knock-off that was made for the JDM front end and modded to fit the USDM front end vs the J's grill that was made to fit perfectly on the USDM bumper!!!

IMO, after all the work that J's & A&J put into developing the parts for the USDM Fit, it's a shame (and inevitable) that there are the copies of the J's front lip and grill starting to float around.....oh well......

Yup, but to be honest, you aren't saving much by getting the knock off version vs. the real one. I think the knock off one is going for something like $200 on eBay. Fitment will probably be sub par as usual and the more they produce, the crappier the fitment will get!!! The money you save on the eBay one you'll end up paying a body shop to fit it properly unless you can fit it yourself. But that's just my $0.02, you get what you pay for! The J's grille was excellent, all I had to do was paint it. Fitment was perfect!

i agree. you really do get what you pay for. personally, i don't think this applies as extensively to wheels (i'm ok with rotas ) but when it comes to this, orginal parts ftw.
