sidemarker wiring

sidemarker wiring

hey guys,

when you guys did your sidemarker wiring..

did you guys take off your front bumper to give you more access to work on the wiring?

need to know.. doing this on saturday...

also any tips on cutting into the car and wiring,

basically any tips on installing sidemarkers?

i have a template already and the right tools

As with anytime you cut into a body panel always make sure the hole is where you want it to be (obviously). Then make sure its lined up where you want it, and always make the hole smaller than you intend it to be in the end, its easier to cut away the extra than it is to replace and paint a fender (not to mention a hell of a lot cheaper). I haven't installed a set on my Fit yet, but I know when wiring my accord sidemarkers it was helpful to have the bumper off for the purpose of running the wiring through the fender.

cut a tiny hole. then use the filing tool on the dremel to file how big you want the hole to be. keep test fitting, you want that sidemarker to be tight!

and i wired it through the fender. it is easier to take the bumper off so you can get to the headlights easier.

ok guys, i'm cutting into my car tomorrow! haha.

i'm also gonna do the DIY painted black housing for fogs.

any tips on what paint to use or any tips on for tomorrows installation and DIY???

I used duplicolor's high-gloss black for the foglights.

Hey could you tell me how to wire up the sidemarker? like which wire do I tap power from?
