T1R Intake

Hello all,

I recieved my T1R intake and installed it in my sport auto,which was a little pain, before I made the trek out to cali for the socal meet. So I wanted to write a quick review because I couldnt be any happier with it.

I am one of the Group of Fit drivers that the typically gets 26-29 MPG. And on my first trips from vegas to la highway I averaged about 32-33 MPG. Figuring with my intake those numbers would change, it did make me hesitant, but the intake looked so good.

Thankfully I was wrong. On the way there including about 50 minutes of stop and go traffic I averaged 35.3 MPG! And including my tank I used around town and the hour plus of traffic heading towards speedzone, i was 32 MPG. And my last tank on my way back including a dreadful 2+ hours of traffic I managed 32 MPG again.

Definately noticed the increase in power maneuvering through the mountains. I had some power troubles before on my trips out but this time there were pretty much none. Of course I would want more power : )

So, overall again I am very happy. The increase in HP is very welcomed. The sound is good, quite when low and opens up quite nicely with a good tone. But my increase in MPG, is what puts me over the top.

Yeah, I dont know how to explain it. I have made the drive before, a couple of times. I am over 6k miles and have constantly been between 26-29 MPG. And this last trip I only increased my MPG including my fair share of stop and go traffic.

P.S. Thanks to JHPUSA for excellent service. I can't hardly believe the intake and visors left friday and made it to me by monday. It made my trip.

Short ram or CAI

I just opened my hood to make sure it would fit... and I can't see why not! It does not seem to matter weither the trans is manual or Auto.
Now. Please elaborate on the increase of sound during normal or hard and sustended acceleration. Please say that is music to your ears... more like the Eagles than Metallica

BTW, is there any link to a Dyno chart of this product?
My heart is already sold to the product, I only want to convince my reason

Its automatic, he says it in his first post.

Intake looks great man. I think I'll be getting one of these, by far the best looking intake for the Fit right now. I'll have to make some sort of heat shield though.

I believe it is right...the copper pipe goes to the same place...it is replaced entirely by the run of blue silicon tubing.

.

Yeah, I thought the same thing at first because I compared it to the same picture. I thought about connecting the tube from the pipe to the intake but it wouldnt work. they are so close that it caused a crease in the tube so I just ran it the whole way.

there is no other hole. he went from

valve cover--->hose-->pipe-->hose-->intake

to simply

valve cover---->new hose---> intake

just like every other honda with the 2 metal pipes joined. ones coolant and ones for the intake.

That's the blowby pipe so actually you should have that connected and have the other side (the parts orginally go back to the stock air box) fitted to the T1R intake with the supplied silicon hose.

Here's the pic of mine but I removed the entire bloby pipe so I hooked it back from the valve cover direct to the intake and I re-routed the coolant hose to make it look better.
