Not sure why people presume gas mileage is supposed to decrease whenever you mod the car. In the case of a header, an intake, and an exhaust, you're only releasing what the engine was already capable of, increasing its efficiency, particularly with airflow. If the air flows better, it should dictate an increase in the overall performance, including gas mileage.
Now whether you atcually see that increase is totally up to you. It won't do you much good if you mod your car and as a result, love it so much, you can't keep your foot from smashing the pedal to the floor.
EDIT: Wow, I didn't realize this thread was 5 pages long. lol

I think you misread the website. I believe it is the combination of intake and exhaust that gained 10 hp. From the website: "Highly recommended the combination with the T1R 50S exhaust. A total of 10whp will be achieved."

no directions and took me a while to get mine in right but mine was their prototype model. sounds pretty good and seems to pick up well. I mean a fit isnt that fast but not bad. It made my J's exhaust seem louder but nothing to crazy. I like it.

Ben, you are using the T1R carbon intake with that cold-air tube right? Where did you position the tube, just below the filter? Or did you use an enclosed heatshield to isolate the intake to just the cold air tube? I'm really curious about what you did, and if it helped, since the other examples I've seen on the forum are using the stock airbox
