The GD3 uses only 12 valve until around 3800 rpm and then engages all 16 vlaves along with vtec. you are just not messing with vtec alone but the whole design of the motor and purpose of it...

I use on my L13A (GD1) a home made map module and the result is great, even if I have a constant % increase at all rpm
SAFC 2 should work best... cause you can modify the a/f ratio as you want; and the car needs it after the replacement of air filter, exhaust, cat etc...

Sorry to say, not worth it.

Go for a filter, pipings and big bore throttle body instead

Why don't?
Is it too expensive? Doesn't it give you lots of hp?
Really filter, pipings and big bore throttle body are different things....
You need to modify your a/f ratio after installing them.... to improve low rpm and to let your engine running near stechiometric again.
Remapping your ecu wolud be the best!! but safc 2 should help a lot...

hey alf74!!
thanks for the advice, dats exactly wat one of my friends told me, that SAFC would help increase in performance, but i just hope it doesnt damage anything in the engine or the ECU. i got my HKS filter already, i am installin custom headers and Borla exhaust. so im hopin to hook the SAFC 2 squeeze out more power out of my mods. i m just hoping for some good advice

Here's a tip pare ... everytime you install a performance item in your car,

disconnect the positive terminal of your battery. This will reset the mapping

of the ECU. The Jazz/Fit automatically adjusts to minor upgrades.

If you really wanna "squeeze" more power from your engine, use piggyback

ECUs. It's an INVESTMENT ! Like GReddy E-manage, Hondata and SMT.

I was also planning before to get an SAFC2, but top tuners here in the

P.I. told me that you wouldn't even feel a response of more power. If it's

relatively cheap, why not.

But add a few more thousand (pesos), I can already buy an SMT. So that's

what I'll invest on

It's still up to you thou, to each his own right Keep us posted

is it really that easy for some one doing minor up grades just have to disconnet the +terminal and the ECU will be remaped? i've got the FUJITA CAI installed for a few months now so should i just disconnet the battery to get the ECU remapped for better performance?

SMT is about 22,000 pesos. E-Manage is about 35,000 pesos.

Spoon Fit Replica at the photos and videos thread

No dyno results yet. Still coming up with minor upgrades before I hit the dyno.
